Hands down Posto has the best thin crust pie in NYC….unfortunately it’s missing a few amenities to give it the full F&B stamp of approval.

New Yorkers love to fight about who has the best pizza in town and I’m no exception. Hands down, Posto makes the best thin crust pizza in the city. From your basic cheese and pepperoni pie to more adventurous combos like the Parma (Marinara sauce & cheese, prosciutto crisps, millionaire bacon, fresh arugula, green apples, balsamic reduction) Posto’s pizza is the bomb. There are also some excellent unexpected items on the menu like the Cheddar Apple Salad topped with a tangy cider vinaigrette, the gazpacho and the Chicken Caesar Pita. Of course no Fork + Bib menu would receive Sunny’s thumbs up without good ol’ chicken soup of which Posto’s is hearty and delicious.
However, despite the great food it’s just not as kid-friendly as Fork + Bib wishes. The restaurant is small – and popular, so it gets quite crowded. If you have a toddler or child that doesn’t need a booster seat or stroller you’re golden. However if you have a young baby, the cramped space makes it nearly impossible to maneuver a stroller in.
There are really only two tables inside that could accommodate an open stroller and one table outside in the front. Also, most of the tables and booths are for parties of 2 or 4 so big family outings are tough unless you are willing to split up.
Although it’s missing some of the family-friendly amenities, Posto is definitely has a family-friendly, laid-back vibe. The staff is attentive and always remembers Sunny (and the fact that she always needs lemon in her water)! If you have a pizza craving, Posto is the best. However, if you have more than 2 kids and/or a baby in a stroller you might want to save this place for date night.
- There are many great parks and playgrounds nearby including Stuyvesant Square and Sunny’s favorite Augustus St. Gaudens Playground (which has a clean bathroom!).
- The space is tight. Outside there is only one table in front that has room for a stroller beside it. Inside try to get one of the front two tables which could accommodate a stroller.
