I could see a momentary look of fear on the maitre d’s face when we walked into the gorgeous all-white restaurant with 4 kids hopped up on chocolate easter eggs and peeps. I get it – after a fun but long morning of marching down 5th ave in the Easter Bonnet Parade I was ready to get outta dodge as well! But we all put on our game face and forged ahead, determined to end the day’s festivities with a chic and adult lunch. And that we did!
The staff at Limani couldn’t have been nicer. They quickly put a few tables together to accommodate all 10 of us and checked our coats. Sunny immediately wanted to walk over and see the infinity pool in the middle of the restaurant. Between that and the excitement she felt from staring at the lobsters in the raw bar we were off to a good start!
The menu is large, made up mostly of seafood. And there is a prix fixe lunch for $28.50 that is quite a good deal considering the a la carte prices. I was a little worried that there might not be anything appropriate for Sunny but unprompted the waiter came over and let us know that they had pasta with red sauce or butter as an option for the kids. I always try to get Sunny to taste new things but based on her mood and sugar high I knew today wasn’t the day to see if she is a fan of Astakomakaronada.
….thank you Pasta Gods! I had a happy camper.
I ordered the scallops followed by the grilled salmon which was simple, fresh and delicious.
And of course, the exciting finale….one of the unisex bathrooms has a changing table! Yeehaw!
Limani is a WINNER. Can’t wait to go back on a romantic date with my husband, daughter or both!
- Near lots of kid-friendly attractions including the Lego Store, Rock Center skating rink and American Girl store. Also within walking distance to Central Park.
- There is no kids menu but they have spaghetti with red sauce or butter for the little ones. Just ask!
- No apple juice – bring your own if your daughter happens to be Sunny 🙂
