I won’t lie, the Barkan’s were pretty bummed when the family friendly Mumbles restaurant closed down after 22 years. They had everything a little girl and her mom could want – crayons, a changing table, stroller parking, a great kids menu and more! However, we are happy to announce Italian restaurant La Follia, has moved in and it’s better than ever. La Follia’s former space just up the street was small and dark. While perfect for date night but it simply didn’t work with kids. In it’s new location, La Follia takes on a much friendlier vibe complete with an entry ramp for strollers and wheelchairs (look for it on the side), and half portion pastas for the kids at a reduced price. Seems like the word has spread because there were at least 4 kids in high chairs when I was there. Hooray! They also have a traditional word burning pizza oven which is definitely kid-friendly.
When I spoke to the matire d’ over labor day weekend she assured me that they were ordering a booster seat or two. Now if they could only install a changing table in the men’s bathroom we could officially give them the Sippy Cup stamp of approval!
- There isn’t an official kids menu but they offer half portions of all their pastas and they are amenable to special orders (sauce on the side etc.) Just ask.
- Outdoor seating!
